The Friends of the English School

Founded in 1954, Friends is the parents’ association of the English School. Friends brings together our entire community—parents, students (from preschool to high school), teachers, and administrators. Our association sponsors scholarships and organizes afterschool clubs, seasonal fairs, Friends’ evenings, and much more.

Every cent earned through our fundraising goes to projects collectively chosen by our community. 

A Sense of Togetherness 

We know that life is busy. But one of the most important things Friends does is create real opportunities for parents, teachers, and students to connect—at our fairs, evenings, and other events throughout the year. When our community is strong, our school is stronger. Your participation—whether as an attendee, a volunteer, or simply a member—makes a direct difference to every child at the English School.

What We Do

Friends runs afterschool clubs, seasonal fairs, and a scholarship program spanning all grade levels. We have also:

•  purchased books, IT equipment, musical instruments, sports and playground equipment, and much more, all for the benefit of our school;

•  organized parents’ evenings; family movie nights; a Winter Sports Day; and, to fundraise, a Vappu balloon sale and sales of school merchandise.

All of this is possible because parents get involved. We warmly invite you to do the same—whether by giving your time, sharing your ideas, contributing financially, or simply signing up as a member. 

Join Us

The first step is to become a member! It takes just a moment and makes a real difference. (Membership is for a single academic year; each year parents are asked to join anew.)
