Grade 4: Vivamo Camp School Reflection

The Grade 4 cohort participated in the Vivamo Camp School held in Lohja from 15th May- 17th May. 

The itinerary for the trip was exciting with the students exposed to a variety of different learning experiences throughout the week. The students participated in day excursions to Meriturva Maritime and Safety Training Centre, Pähkinänniemi nature path, Pyhän Laurin Kirkko, Tytyri Mine Museum, Sika Kiva and Neidonkeidas swimming pool. In these locations, the students learned a variety of new facts and information from expert guides. In the afternoon the students (and teachers and supervisors) got to enjoy the picturesque environment in the Vivamo camp centre, where they got to pet donkeys and go to the sauna and swim in Lohjanjärvi despite the water being 11 degrees! 

The students highlights from the trip included:

-sauna, swimming and grilling in the evening

-sharing picnic lunches together 

-holding a variety of exotic animals at Sika Kiva animal reserve

-going down the fun waterslides at Neidonkeidas recreation centre

The students participated with enthusiasm in all activities and showed excellent team work when trying out new skills and experiences. They showed the important skills of independence, resilience and consideration. These are all excellent skills, which they have developed and will take with them to future experiences.
